Speaking
Blame it on Bernays
The doctrine of modern marketing came from one man: Edward Bernays, Freud’s nephew, who took his uncle’s research and taught the world to sell by exploiting fear, uncertainty, and desire. Some call him the father of public relations. I call him the Godfather of Mass Gaslighting, because his methods were adopted by white supremacists, Nazi Germany, and then Madison Avenue. And they remain the primary orthodoxy running modern advertising and the algorithm today.
This keynote is for the leader who feels the conflict between a rising consciousness and a marketing playbook built on manipulation. I trace where the playbook came from, why it clashes with how conscious leaders actually want to reach people, and what a brand looks like when it speaks from the soul instead of engineering consent.
Topics I speak on
H2H brand strategy
A human-to-human view of how all constituencies experience the brand, and how to build one around people rather than segments.
Ethical marketing practices
Where the line falls between persuasion and manipulation, and how to grow a business without exploiting anyone’s fears, doubts, or insecurities.
Brand poetry
How to write brand language like a poet, and why that matters when marketing has ruined language.
Brand as a school of philosophy
The world’s oldest brands are philosophies. This talk breaks down how to build a brand as one.
Marketing as a systems thinker
A brand is a living system, not a machine. Leaders learn why growth compounds when trust moves through a network, and why paid attention never will.
Burn down a piece of marketing orthodoxy
A set of workshops for any leader, each one built to burn down a piece of marketing orthodoxy and replace it with something that actually works.
F the elevator pitch
Why scripted intros kill real connection
Call out the formulaic “What do you do?” responses, then show how to build language that sounds like you and actually lands.
F the niche
How to stand out without shrinking yourself
Challenge the industry obsession with niching down to irrelevance, and teach how to lead with your edges instead.
F the content calendar
Create on your terms, not the algorithm’s
Burn the idea that publishing frequency matters more than resonance, and show how to replace obligation with authentic expression.
F the high-ticket hustle
Pricing without manipulation or burnout
Tear down high-pressure sales frameworks and “charge your worth” platitudes, replacing them with structure that protects energy and income.
F the funnel
Build systems that serve you, not the other way around
Expose how most scaling advice creates operational bloat, and show how to design simple systems that keep growth sustainable.
